The ZZ plant, scientifically known as Zamioculcas zamiifolia, is a tropical plant belonging to the Araceae family. Originating from eastern Africa, specifically from southern Kenya to northeastern South Africa, this plant features elegant stems that grow upwards resembling a magical wand. Emerging from a bulbous base that tapers as it extends upwards, the stems are adorned with waxy, shiny, oval-shaped leaves.

Ideal for those new to plant parenting, the ZZ plant is extremely resilient and can go without water for extended periods. It is also adaptable to various light conditions, thriving from low to bright, indirect light. When it comes to watering, it is recommended to water the plant once every 2-3 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out completely in between waterings.

However, it is worth noting that the ZZ plant is toxic to pets, so caution should be taken when placing it in a home with animals. This plant is best suited for intermediate plant parents who have some experience caring for plants.
